Downtown Marina
As part of Houma's downtown revitalization efforts, the Downtown Marina serves both transient, recreational boaters, and local residents alike with its conveniences and park-like setting. Situated at the junction of Historic Bayou Terrebonne and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW), the Downtown Marina is officially located on the GIWW at Mile Marker 58WHL.
Houma's Downtown Marina provides safe harbor for overnight stays with all the conveniences necessary to serve recreational boaters. The marina provides shore power and fresh water with a Marina Master to facilitate mooring, access to utilities, and general information for the traveler.
Visit cbp.gov for information on U.S. Customs Reporting Requirements. For late arrivals, contact the Harbor Master at (985) 852-7170. The Downtown Marina is strictly for transient recreation boaters. No commercial vessels allowed.
Marina Specifications
- Marina average depth is 5 to 7 feet
- 350 feet of dock space
- 5 slips, minimum width is 12 feet
- Utility pedestals with receptacles for:
- 30 amp, 120 volt
- 50 amp, 120 volt
- 50 amp, 240 volt
- fresh water
- Located “Entre deux ponts” (between the two bridges) on the GIWW at Mile Marker 58 WHL.
Rental Rates
- Overnight fee including all utilities - $25
How to Reserve a Space
Please note that docking space is limited, and the maximum length of stay is seven nights.

Contact the Harbor Master at (985) 852-7170. If the Harbor Master is not available, contact the Cultural Enrichment Administrator.
- Call (985) 873-6408 during weekday business hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.
- Call (985) 856-6417 after hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Pay the fees in-person or over the phone. The Harbor Master/Cultural Enrichment Administrator will coordinate the location for in-person payments.
- Receive a receipt once the payment is processed.
- Please note that credit card payments will list the Folklife Culture Center on the receipt even though the payment is for the marina.
