This event is a free, educational statewide initiative designed to teach children how to start, own, and operate their own lemonade business. Children can enter for a chance to win best tasting lemonade, most creative stand, and best salesmanship. Prizes will be awarded to the first place winner in each category. The 2017 Rougarou Fest queen will be selected during this year’s Rougarou Ball to be held 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Houma Municipal Auditorium, 880 Verret St., Houma. Creative teams will present their queen contestant dressed in a “Swamp Thing” theme during the Ball where judges will crown the 2017 Rougarou Fest Queen. Tickets for the Ball are $75 per person with proceeds supporting the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center. There will be food, drinks, a live and silent auction, and live music provided. Guests are asked to wear their best Swamp Chic attire. It’s cocktail attire with a flair that only South Louisiana can bring! Historical Oak Alley Plantation is the site for Reveille at Oak Alley 5K and 1/2 Mile Run and Walk. Registration is $35 for ages 18-65 and $25 for ages 65+ and 17 and under. Second Annual Kids Fishing Rodeo for kids 15 and younger Begins Daylight June 10 and ends at 4 PM June 11th
