The Louisiana Blackberry Festival is the annual signature fundraiser for MacDonell United Methodist Children’s Services - and every bite, sip, and ticket helps support children and young adults in our community who need a safe, nurturing place to grow. This festival isn’t just fun… it fuels a mission that changes lives right here in Terrebonne Parish. Featuring lots of delicious food and cold drinks, including blackberry dumplings, desserts, and drinks. We will also have live music, local craft vendors, and activities for the kids and family. Farmers Market for Local Farmers

Shop fresh, locally grown produce and community-made goods at the farmers market held every third Saturday of the month at Houma Airbase Park. Vendors may set up starting at 6:00 a.m., and the market opens to the public at 8:00 a.m. The market supports healthy living, improves access to fresh food and pantry items, and highlights local businesses while strengthening the regional economy. Vendor participation is open to growers, farmers, producers, processors, and craftsmen within a 75-mile radius of Houma, Louisiana, with occasional exceptions.

Miss Cherie’s Memorial Touch-A-Truck 2026

The Terrebonne Parish Main Library will host Miss Cherie’s Memorial Touch-A-Truck from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026. This event is free and open to the public. From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., we will offer a Sensory-Friendly Hour, featuring a quieter, low-stimulation environment. During this time, there will be no honking horns, sirens, or flashing lights, allowing children and families to explore the vehicles in a more relaxed setting. Various community vehicles such as fire trucks, tow trucks, cement mixers, and delivery trucks will be parked at the Main Library for children of all ages to climb in and explore. Children will also have an opportunity to meet the drivers and learn how each plays an important role in serving the community. Hot dogs, juice boxes, and water will be served.
