The Kiwanis Club of Houma will be hosting its annual Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade and Festival at the courthouse square Saturday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event kicks off with a short canine parade after which awards for best dog costume, best owner/pet look alike costume, and others categories will be presented. The event is a fundraiser for the Kiwanis through sponsors and donations from participants. The Kiwanis clubs sponsors a number of activities benefitting the Houma community with special focus on children such as the Terrific Kids program in local schools, the Play It Again Terrebonne instrument loan program to local school bands, Books for Bikes, scholarships to NSU and Fletcher, high school Key Clubs and volunteering to help with events of other local non-profits. Tax deductible donation can be made to Kiwanis Club of Houma Foundation.
*All dogs are required to be leashed and non-aggressive.*

Bayou Regional Arts Council is hosting the Bayou Arts Festival featuring Art After Dark. Event will showcase all art in our area including songwriters, fine arts, high school bands, choirs and art departments, craft vendors, cultural food cook-off, aerial artists, and more. This festival will promote our quality of life and civic pride.

The Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild has its Christmas Show and Sale going on through Christmas. The gallery is located in downtown Houma at 630 Belanger Street just 2 doors from Scarlet Scoop. The gallery is full of a variety of art in many media and Christmas gifts and ornaments made by our member artists. Plenty Louisiana themed are very reasonably priced.
Our fundraiser Christmas tree is loaded with ornaments painted by our members. Each are only $5 and helps support gallery operations.
We will be registering in December for our free Student Art Classes on Saturdays in January. You must register in person. Only one class per student.
Our regular hours are Tuesday and Friday from 10am-4pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm. We will be open each weekday Christmas week from 10am-4pm.
