Festival celebrating the 200th anniversary of the founding of Terrebonne Parish, LA. Presentations and displays highlighting the history of its citizens and various aspects of life such as culture, education, commerce, and transportation to name a few. There will be a parade on Barrow and Main Streets with period costumes and vehicles. Food, beverages, music, and craft vendors will also be on site along with some other fun surprises.

The Kiwanis Club of Houma will be hosting its annual Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade and Festival at the courthouse square Saturday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event kicks off with a short canine parade after which awards for best dog costume, best owner/pet look alike costume, and others categories will be presented. The event is a fundraiser for the Kiwanis through sponsors and donations from participants. The Kiwanis clubs sponsors a number of activities benefitting the Houma community with special focus on children such as the Terrific Kids program in local schools, the Play It Again Terrebonne instrument loan program to local school bands, Books for Bikes, scholarships to NSU and Fletcher, high school Key Clubs and volunteering to help with events of other local non-profits. Tax deductible donation can be made to Kiwanis Club of Houma Foundation.
