Come walk downtown Houma, visit with friends and enjoy the evening. We will have artists throughout the downtown area, and our restaurants and night time entertainment will be offering specials to enjoy.

Houmapalooza is a free outdoor music festival featuring 10 independent bands performing their own original music all in one place. Bring your picnic blankets/lawn chairs and stay all day, under the oaks. No ice chests, please. Food and drinks will be sold. Keep the party going after the festival ends and hear your favorite bands from the festival at the Houmapalooza... on Tap bar crawl at participating downtown bars. Like us on Facebook for updates!

The 'Home Run' 5K Walk/Run is an opportunity to support a good cause. There will be a 1 mile fun run at 8:00am with the 5K at 9:00am. There will be awards, food, a D. J. and fun for the whole family.1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners will have an opportunity to take part in a Habitat home dedication as presenters.

Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program, underwritten by Lowe’s, recruits, educates and inspires women to build simple, decent and affordable houses in their communities. As a part of National Women Build week Bayou Area Habitat will hold Women Build days May 10-12. To sign up contact Aimee Bourgeois at 985-447-6999.

Judging for the STATE competition for the Cleanest City Award is May 10, 2012. Judges will be riding along the route from 2:00 to 3:00 that day.
