Keep Terrebonne Beautiful is calling on community members to take action in the fight against litter at the Bayou Grand Caillou White Boot Clean Up. This volunteer-driven event aims to remove litter and debris from roadsides, highways, and waterways to create a safer, cleaner, and more beautiful Terrebonne Parish. All volunteers will receive a free event t-shirt (while supplies last) and access to the after-party celebration to thank them for their hard work. The Terrebonne Parish Health Unit will be hosting a community resource and health fair.
Terrebonne General Health System Mobile CARE Clinic screenings will be available which include lipid & glucose checks, blood pressure checks, weight checks, and nurse consultations.
In addition, several other resources will be available such as behavioral health resources, healthcare resources, youth programs and resources, senior citizens resources and programs, veterans resources and information, Bayou Health Plan resources, and much more.
This spring, the Terrebonne Parish Library System invites the community to witness the beautiful transformation of butterflies as part of an engaging, educational program. Beginning in early March, all Terrebonne Parish Libraries will house living caterpillars in nets, allowing visitors to observe the incredible life cycle of a butterfly up close. This special event will feature a story time and an outdoor walking parade, where the butterflies that have grown in the library will be released into the community garden.
