TPCG Tree Board with KaTREEna and Superbowl Host
Description:
Five hundred 3 to 5 gallon containers as well as 1,500 seedlings of native Louisiana trees will be given out at no charge to the residents of Terrebonne Parish to help in the restoration of their community following recent hurricanes. This is the sixth event held over the previous months that included four other Louisiana Parishes which are Jefferson, St. John The Baptist, St. Tammany, and Orleans Parishes with the goal of giving away over 5,000 trees. This event will also include instructions on proper tree planting and care provided by the Terrebonne Parish Tree Board.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Terrebonne trains and supports community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children in Terrebonne Parish. Children with a CASA volunteer are substantially less likely to spend long-term time in foster care and are more likely to find permanency.
