Proposed Bob's Bayou Black Marina Acquisition Will Not Move Forward
Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government (TPCG) has decided not to move forward with the proposed purchase of Bob's Bayou Black Marina following an extensive review and negotiation process.
TPCG began evaluating the potential acquisition in September 2025, with the intent to open the area to public use. As part of its due diligence, the Parish completed a title review, appraisal, and months of negotiations to address property-related issues and secure long-term access to navigable water.
The marina is accessible through a waterway owned by Williams, Inc. Despite negotiation efforts, Williams, Inc. is only willing to provide TPCG with a 10-year agreement. TPCG cannot use public funds to purchase a marina which may be cut off from public access in ten years, as it has a fiduciary duty to be a good steward of taxpayer money.
Despite extensive efforts to address the issues identified during the due diligence process, the conditions necessary to complete the purchase could not be met. As a result, TPCG determined it could not proceed with the acquisition.
While the purchase will not move forward, TPCG remains committed to exploring opportunities that benefit residents and enhance community assets.
