Tropical Storm Arthur Disaster Recovery Center Opens

A new Disaster Recovery Center has opened to help Terrebonne Parish residents and business owners recover from the impacts of Tropical Storm Arthur.

The center, located at the Terrebonne Parish Main Library, 151 Library Drive, opened on July 8 and will be staffed by recovery specialists from the State of Louisiana, FEMA, and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Residents can receive in-person assistance with applying for federal disaster aid, learn about available recovery resources, and get answers to questions about the assistance process. No appointment is required.

The Disaster Recovery Center will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to FEMA assistance, the SBA is offering low-interest disaster loans to eligible businesses, private nonprofit organizations, homeowners, and renters affected by the storm.

Residents do not have to visit the center to apply for assistance. Applications can also be submitted online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA mobile app, or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362.
