Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government’s Senior Stationary Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on pump stations and related equipment to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
In this role, the incumbent will be expected to prepare service vehicles, conduct routine inspections, maintain accurate documentation, and assist senior mechanics with complex tasks.
The Senior Stationary Equipment Mechanic also manages inventory, orders parts, and responds to emergency situations.

- Valid Louisiana driver’s license
- Meet with the Supervisor each morning to receive daily work assignments and project briefings.
- Prepare and stock service vehicles with necessary tools, equipment, and materials.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on pump stations and related equipment, including transporting engines to the shop when required.
- Conduct routine inspections of stations to identify maintenance needs and ensure operational efficiency.
- Complete accurate documentation, including repair reports, work orders, and time sheets.
- Monitor inventory levels, order parts, and procure supplies and tools as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance such as oil and filter changes, fuel filter replacements, and inspection of belts, hoses, and other components.
- Assist Senior Equipment Mechanics with complex repairs and projects.
- Respond to emergency situations and storm events as a Tier 1 responder, working extended hours when necessary.
- Collaborate with other divisions and provide support when requested.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies and attend scheduled safety meetings .
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and basic electrical and mechanical tasks.
- Accurately perform general math calculations and maintain proficiency in using tablets or iPads for work documentation.
- Answer calls and assist in emergencies when required.
- Participate in quarterly One-on-One meetings with Supervisor.
- Complete all required annual trainings—including ethics, harassment prevention, diversity, and cybersecurity—in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all duties and responsibilities are performed with integrity, professionalism, and in good faith, consistently upholding and protecting the interests, reputation, and assets of the Parish government.
- Perform any additional task as required by Supervisor.

- Organizational Skills: Maintains precise records, manages inventory systematically, and ensures tools and materials are prepared for timely execution of assignments.
- Technical Skills: Possesses strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, basic electrical task, and proficiency in using digital tools such as tablets or iPads for documentation.
- Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in equipment maintenance or a related mechanical field.
