The second Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade and Festival, sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Houma, will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021, in Downtown Houma. The event will feature a dog parade, various competitions including best costume, best owner/dog look alike, cutest dog, a howling contest, and best dog trick contest.
The event is a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Houma, but parade marchers can register for a donation of any amount. Kiwanis didn’t set a fee because they didn’t want anyone excluded from the event by the expense.
Competition winners will receive “bling” dog tags and treats noting their canine accomplishment.
Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. The parade kicks off at 11:00 a.m. and will march from the courthouse square at Main Street to Barrow Street, right on Barrow Street to School Street, School Street to Goode Street back to the square where competitions and awards will take place.
Pre-registration, details, rules, parade route and sponsorship information can be found online at kiwanishouma.com or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. All dogs are required to be leashed and non-aggressive.
