The Houma Police Department (HPD) and The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) present National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, October 1, 2019,for Terrebonne Parish residents.
National Night Out was originally started in 1984 in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by Matt Peskin. The event is a nationally-celebrated community event that encourages police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie while promoting neighborhood safety. Many neighborhoods participate by hosting block parties, BBQs, and festivals with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, and more.
