The Terrebonne Parish Tree Board awards the Tree-Mendous Tree Award four times a year to recognize regionally appropriate trees that have received stewardship from individuals, organizations, businesses, or government. These outstanding, “tree-mendous” trees promote community engagement and improve the quality of life in Terrebonne Parish. The award serves to recognize and applaud the stewards of these trees.
The 2018 Tree-Mendous Tree Award Recipients are as follows:
1st Quarter – The award was presented to Travis Lavigne on January 23 for his caring for the lawn and trees of Maria Immacolata Catholic School and Church yards.
2nd Quarter – The award was presented to Brandon Simoneaux on behalf of Chevron on May 23. The award recognized the landscaping of Chevron’s Maintenance Division on West Park Avenue in Gray.
3rd Quarter – The award was presented to Jennifer Gerbasi, Recovery Planner for the TPCG Planning and Zoning Department’s Recovery Assistance and Mitigation Division. The award was presented on July 27 for their tree projects in Chauvin, LA.
4th Quarter – The award was presented to Kacy Cenac, daughter of Barbara Cenac (owner of the Twelve Oaks Bed and Breakfast), on October 24 for the preservation of the old live oaks located on Mandalay Road.
