Description: The Big Read Kickoff Event for the book Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich will be held at the Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum. Anticipate perusing great books and other Big Read materials in the Terrebonne Parish Library's Bookmobile (bring your library card)! Keynote presentations by Amanda LaFleur, Instructor and Coordinator of Cajun Studies at LSU and author of Cajun French reference books, and by Jonathan Foret, Development Director of the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center. Also, check out some of our area's finest United Houma Nation artisans presenting their work. Folk/bluegrass music by Clay Parker & Billy Finney and Cajun Music by James Jag & Friends. Based on information received in the spring meetings, the Planning Team will bring a draft of the plan first to the Steering Committee for review, and then to the Houma-Terrebonne Planning Commission for an extended review and public comment period. If revisions to the plan are necessary, they will be made before the plan is adopted by the Planning Commission and sent to the Parish Council for review and acceptance.
