The Terrebonne Parish NAACP Branch will host a Terrebonne Parish President Candidate Forum. The purpose of the Candidate Forum is to give voters and residents of Terrebonne Parish an opportunity to hear candidates discuss different issues in this election. This important community event desires, needs, and invites your presence to engage in the democratic process and influence Parish government. The Candidates will answer written questions from NAACP members, community base organization members, and citizens from Terrebonne Parish community at-large. Written questions are also being accepted on the Terrebonne Parish NAACP's Facebook page. The forum will be staged in a nonpartisan, unbiased and impartial format. Retired Terrebonne Parish Educator, Mr. Ernest Brown, Sr. will serve as moderator.

The Terrebonne Parish Library System announces its first Fall Makers Market. This market will feature produce and products from local farmers, artists, cooks, and creators. The weekly Tuesday Markets will return in the fall after the Saturday Market on September 9. “The Tuesday Markets will return when the weather is more favorable. The Terrebonne Parish Health Unit will be celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month by hosting a Hispanic Family Health Day. In addition to the many Health Unit services that can be provided that day, the WISEWOMEN program will provide heart health screenings and give out $50 food card vouchers and gym/health center memberships for women 35-64.
