- The head of the
Public Works Department shall be the Director of Public Works.
- The Director of Public Works shall direct and be responsible
for the following:
- Engineering services for all departments
and agencies, except as may be otherwise provided by the Utilities Department.
- Supervision of all Contract construction work,
except as may be provided by the Utilities Department.
- Maintenance of parish government property.
- Mapping and surveying, except as may be provided by the Planning and
Zoning Department.
- Construction and maintenance performed by the
Parish Government of roads, sidewalks, bridges and drainage
facilities.
- Traffic engineering.
- Operation of a central
facility for the repair and maintenance of Parish Government
vehicles and equipment.
- Other responsibilities as directed by the Parish President.
- The Public Works Department shall consist of the following divisions:
- Engineering Division
- Capital Improvements Division
- Drainage, Roads & Bridges Division
- Public Transit Division
- Fleet Maintenance Division
- Building Maintenance Division
- Vegetation Division
- Pollution Control Division
Each division shall have a division head
who shall be under the supervision of the Director of the Public
Works Department. |
