Bus Routes |
Bus Schedules |
Refer
to the map to see how the Good Earth Transit buses
can take you from where you are to where you want to go.
Each route is depicted in a different color. First, find
the route closest to where you are, then see if where you
want to go is located on the same route. If it isn't, you
will need to transfer to a different route. Transferring
is simple. Stay on the bus until it reaches the Bus Transfer
Terminal, located at the corner of Main Street and Barataria
Avenue. You may now board the bus which will take you to
your final destination. |
To know when to catch the bus,
check
the bus time schedule. Good Earth Transit buses
are not assigned exact times at every stop, the times depicted
are at the ends of the routes. From these times you
can estimate when the bus will get to your stop.

Good Earth Transit bus stop
signs and shelters are conveniently located throughout the
transit system. If
you need help finding the nearest stop, please call us at (985)
850-4616 and we will be happy to assist you.
To ride, please wait at the bus stop sign or
within the shelter. When the bus approaches, look straight
at the driver so he will know that you want him to stop. Wait
until the bus comes to a complete stop and passengers have
exited before approaching the bus to enter.
Please let the driver know in advance where you
want to get off the bus to allow the driver time to make
a safe, smooth stop.

Please have exact change for bus fares. Good Earth
Transit bus drivers are not allowed to carry or make change for
passengers. Our fareboxes accept all coins and bills.

The base fare is $1.00 per ride, paid when you
board. If you know that you will need to ride several times during
a day you can save by purchasing a DayPass for $2.50 when you
board. If you ride on a regular basis, our drivers sell DayPass
coupons in quantities of 5 for $11.00 or 10 for $21.00. Coupons
do not expire, so you choose when to use them. Children UNDER
4 years of age ride for FREE.
|
Senior citizens age 65 and over, Medicare recipients,
and persons with qualifying disabilities, may receive half-price
fares by showing proper identification when boarding the bus.
Disabled persons who cannot board the regular bus along the route
should contact 850-4616 to find out about applying for paratransit
services.

Each Good
Earth Transit Bus is equipped with an easy-to-use bicycle
rack for our passenger's convenience. In order to be qualified
to use the bicycle rack on the bus you must first receive a "Bike Pass".
In order to receive a bike pass, each applicant must undergo
training to use the bicycle rack properly. These training sessions
are held at 1:00pm on the first Wednesday of each month at
the Good Earth Transit Downtown terminal.
