How To Report A Complaint

The Nuisance Abatement Division may be reached by calling (985) 873-6563. A clerk will assist you between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, excluding holidays. You may also report a code violation by filling out the (online complaint form).
In order to properly investigate complaints in a timely manner, we need accurate information. Most importantly, we need to contact the complainant and the property owner. Without this critical information unnecessary delays result as the inspector searches for the needed information.

Before You Complain

This division works on a “complaint received” basis, and NO anonymous complaints are accepted. You will be required to provide your name and daytime phone number. Although this information is mandatory and becomes a matter of public record, subject to the Freedom of Information Act, we do not volunteer it information to anyone.
