Terrebonne Parish Evacuation Plan

The homebound, elderly, and disabled residents of our parish have special evacuation needs. Our local government acknowledges this and plans to evacuate these residents first. Please note that "special needs" residents should evacuate with their families whenever possible.

When a local evacuation order is called, parish officials, will notify residents primarily using local media and the Emergency Alert System (EAS). All emergency information, including shelter openings, evacuation routes, and weather conditions will be given through the media. Stay tuned to your local radio and television stations for the latest official advisories, warnings, and bulletins.

Zone 1 risk area will be the most crucial area needing to evacuate due to the likeliness of high waters even during minimal storm conditions. Zone 2 and Zone 3 may also become high risk areas based on the intensity of the storm. Remember the high tide conditions may occur throughout the year other than during hurricanes that may necessitate evacuation from lower elevation areas. Please review the Zone listing to determine your risk area.
