The Bayou Lacarpe Bridge on LA 661 will be closed to vehicular traffic daily, effective Monday, March 2, 2009 from 9:00 am through 2:00 pm until further notice. On Saturday, March 7, 2009, and Sunday, March 8, 2009, the these hours will be extended from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. This major repair includes removing and replacing the wire rope lifting cables.

Alternate traffic route: LA 661 (S. Van Avenue)/ LA 57 (Grand Caillou Road)/ LA 3040 (Tunnel Blvd)/ LA 182 (Barrow Street)/ LA 315-approximately 3 miles.
