• Cleanup and boom maintenance are the crews’ top priorities.

Weather

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 95. Heat index values as high as 111. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 78. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 94. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 77.

Cleanup Progress

• Continued beach reconnaissance and manual recovery of discovered oil.

• All recovery operations are to follow the general shoreline treatment recommendations established for Timbalier Bay and Terrebonne Bay.

2) Oil impact reports:

• Assessment team reports the following:

• Team observed a line of emulsified oil in Terrebonne Bay approximately a quarter-mile long.

• Sporadic oil was observed near the mouth of Oyster Bayou.


3) Fishing Closures:

• Louisiana state officials on Friday reopened a large section of waters east of the Mississippi River for shrimp and finfish harvesting after consultation and lab tests approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration.
• The only closures that remain are mapped below.
