The Terrebonne Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is continuing to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Bonnie. A meeting was held at 11am this morning with the Parish President and other parish officials to discuss the response of the parish to the tropical storm. The parish may consider the issuance of a declaration of emergency for Terrebonne Parish on Saturday morning due to the tendency of the forecast track of the storm to move further east causing less of an impact and concern for Terrebonne Parish. As of 4pm today, the National Hurricane Center forecast track has the storm heading to the Louisiana-Mississippi state line which will have less of an effect on Terrebonne Parish. Even with this forecast track, the Terrebonne Parish of Emergency Preparedness will partially activate due to the fact Terrebonne Parish still lies within the National Hurricane Center error cone and that the Parish is in a Tropical Storm Warning.

At the present time, no shelters have been open or evacuation orders issued within the Parish.

The Terrebonne Parish Departments, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Emergency Services are currently on standby in the event that they would be called upon to implement their Tropical Storm Plans.
