|
We have encountered several examples of vandalism to our equipment as well as some good and bad drainage practices that we would like the public to be aware of. Click here to see pictures of these.
| Forced Drainage Pumps
|
The drainage division operates 61 forced drainage
systems throughout the parish. At present we are
installing a telemetry scada system on these stations,
which has the capability of monitoring the status
of the stations from a central location to assure
proper operation of the pumps. The first phase is
complete with 39% of the pumps online at present.

| Ditches and
Canals
|
The drainage division also cleans and maintains
the roadside ditches, culverts, and catch basins
on all parish streets. Drainage also cleans canals
and laterals within the forced drainage systems, in
the parish. This includes cutting of levees and laterals,
dredging pump canals, removal of vegetation from
canals.
