The Parking Control Officer has the duty of issuing parking citations to people in the downtown area of Houma. There have been numerous articles in the The Courier about the parking enforcement laws for the downtown area.

The Parking Control Officer duties currently include: meter enforcement, meter collection, meter maintenance/repair, and handling customer complaints. There are currently 400 meters being enforced in the downtown area.

Meter fines are as follows:

All fines shall be paid at the City Court of Houma, located at 8046 Main Street, between the business hours of 08:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. All such payments must be in cash or money order only.
