Terrebonne Parish Public Records Request Form

Sec. 2-104. - Disseminating information.

(a) There is hereby established a requirement for a reading file which shall include all materials, letters,
memorandums, studies, and computer reports which are developed, transmitted or received by the parish government system. The reading file shall include all materials typed on the parish letterhead, as well as the above.
(b) The council clerk shall be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date, cross referenced reading file for all materials so presented from the administrative or other offices.
(c) All parish government letters, communications, internal memorandums, studies, and computer reports for any purpose not required to be confidential by state law shall be made available to the council.
(d) The administration and the council clerk shall be responsible for the copying and transmitting of all materials within their respective offices as detailed above for the reading file of the council.

Sec. 2-105. - Examination of public records.

The custodian of public records must authorize any examination of public records other than during regular office or working hours. If the examination is made after regular office or working hours, the employee designated to represent the custodian during such examination shall be entitled to overtime compensation. The custodian of public records must receive, in advance, the overtime pay required to have an employee present from the person examining such records during other than regular office or working hours.

Sec. 2-106. - Copies of public records.

Copies of public records shall be furnished to a person so requesting at a fee of twenty-five cents ($0.25) per page copies, except as otherwise provided. Copies of public records may be furnished without charge or at a reduced charge to indigent citizens of this state.
