Final LA SAFE Parish-Wide Meeting December 6th, 2017

Louisiana's Strategic Adaptations for Future Environments (LA SAFE) will host a final parishwide meeting for Terrebonne Parish on Wednesday, December 6th, from 6 p.m. to 8 pm at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center, 346 Civic Center Blvd., Houma, LA 70360.

The December meeting follows four rounds of parishwide and community-wide meetings about Louisiana’s coastal land loss crisis. These meetings have emphasized a collaborative approach between LA SAFE and parish residents in developing coastal restoration and adaptation projects to combat coastal land loss and its consequences.

In this final meeting, residents of Terrebonne Parish are invited to give feedback on proposed parish-specific projects, and meeting participants will also have opportunities to select their favorite projects. Input received at this final meeting will have a direct impact on which projects could be funded as a result. The meeting will also celebrate everyone’s devoted efforts thus far: food, music, art, and other local staples will be available.

Selected projects will be announced in early 2018.The LA SAFE team encourages all interested parties to attend and help shape coastal conservation efforts in Terrebonne Parish. Transportation is available; call Rachelle at (504) 517-5292. Find more information at lasafe.la.gov or on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (all at @LiveLaSafe).
