Terrebonne Parish President Michel Claudet is proud to announce that Houma will compete in the annual Cleanest City Contest. The 2015 District competition is March 17, 2015. The judges will be arriving in Houma around 9:00 a.m. that morning. After the judging they will enjoy the hospitality of the local Terrebonne Garden Club at a reception at the Waterlife Museum before traveling to judge another City.
The Cleanest City Contest is sponsored by the Louisiana Garden Club Federation with the goal of increasing civic pride and improving the visual appeal of town and cities throughout the state. President Claudet is always anxious to compete in the annual contest. Houma has won the District competition several times and in 2008 Houma was honored to win the STATE completion. “My goal is to win State again this year” said President Claudet. “I am so proud of the citizens of Houma who join together to make this happen. It truly takes a team effort”. “It is inspiring to see how many businesses and residents join together to show pride in their city.”
