Houma/Thibodaux Transportation Plan Update

Wednesday January 14, 2009 09:05 am - 2619 Views

The Houma-Thibodaux Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is soliciting public input from any interested persons concerning the HOUMA-THIBODAUX METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN - MTP 2035. The plan is updated every 5 years and acts as a blue-print for guiding elected officials toward meeting the transportation needs of their constituencies. It proposes how the transportation resources should be managed and serves as the frame-work for transportation investment decisions through the year 2035. As part of the plan update process, three (3) visioning meetings will be held in the region to determine the community’s vision of what the region should look like 10 and 20 years in the future. The visioning process is designed to be flexible. We have scheduled meetings at different locations and at different times to make them as convenient as possible. The meetings are scheduled as follows. Monday, January 26, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., at Thibodaux High Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., at the Larose Civic Center Thursday, January 29, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., at the Terrebonne Parish Gov. Tower Interested citizens may attend the meeting(s) to provide their input regarding the transportation network deficiencies, solutions to address the deficiencies, environmental concerns and anticipated growth within the study area. The information gathered at these meetings will be used to develop a final set of screening, selecting, and prioritization criteria of plan projects.
