The Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government Section 8 Rental Assistance Program will accept applications from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Applications can be obtained at the Houma Municipal Auditorium, 880 Verret Street, Houma, LA 70360.

Only 500 applications will be accepted.

Income verification must be provided by the applicant and attached to the application.

Eligibility guidelines are as follows:

If any applicant qualifies for one of the following local preferences, documentation may be submitted with the application. You must supply your own copies. Local preferences are as follows:

• Working. Head, spouse, or sole member of household. Document with check stubs for the past three months.
• Disabled. Head of household or any household member. Document with Social Security award letter or statement from physician.
• Local Residency. Head of household. Document with current State of LA photo ID stating current physical address. A P.O. box is not sufficient for the local preference.
• Honorably Discharged Veteran. Head of household. Document with discharge papers. 

The Section 8 Rental Assistance Program is not an emergency assistance program. All eligible applications will be placed on the Section 8 waiting list by local preferences and date/time of receipt. All applications will be notified of the application decision via mail.
