Terrebonne Parish Information Coast Guard representatives in Cocodrie reported: • Total personnel in Cocodrie: 788 • National Incident Commander reports that the oil recovery for the last 24 hours is greater than 25,000 barrels. Weather Today - A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. East southeast wind around 10 mph. Tonight - A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 77. East wind around 5 mph. Tuesday - Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. East southeast wind between 5 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Tuesday Night - A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 77. East southeast wind between 10 and 15 mph. Boats/Vessels • Deployment of Skimmers: • 13 total -3 Bordelon Skimmers -4 Clean Harbor Drum Skimmers -1 ES&H skimmer -2 Egmopol skimmers -3 MSRC Skimmers • 92 boats on site assisting with cleanup in Cocodrie. Boom • Boom Inventory: • Boom ≤35”: • Deployed Today:4,048’ • Total Deployed:184,463’ • Boom ≥35”: • Deployed Today:0 • Total Deployed:10,159’ • Sorbent Boom: • Deployed Today:1,560’ • Total Deployed:97,647’ Cleanup Progress • Clean harbors continue to retrieve and clean-up oil with absorbent material, rakes & shovels etc. in Bayou Petite Caillou, Bay Timbour, and Lake Pelto. • Skimmers continue to skim and retrieve oil in Cat Island Pass, Little Pass, Terrebonne Bay, and Lake Barre • Cocodrie will continue to increase their response as the weather allows. Confirmed Oil impact: • Assessment team reports the following: • Reported from the south-facing shore of Lake Pelto, observed an approximate 20’ pillow of oil that had washed up onto the shore and had impacted vegetation. Reported (2) additional pillows of oil, approximately 150 yards west. The oil pillows were approximately 12’ wide and had washed ashore. Observed a patch of fresh oil, approximately 20’ wide, that had washed up ashore and had impacted vegetation. • Reported from north Lake Pelto, observed approximately 10’ x 20’ patches of brownish-red oil washed ashore and coating the spartina at this location. • Reported from north Lake Pelto, east of Bay St. Elaine, observed light brown to dark brown, thick oil patches, approximately 30’ wide, that had washed up approximately 15’-20’ into the Spartina.
