SLECA Update about Southern Part of Service Territory

Shared from our friends at SLECA:

For our members in the southern part of our service territory:

As power is restored to the northern parts of Terrebonne Parish, please remember that though the damage to SLECA’s system was bad, it was not nearly as severe as the catastrophic damage in Dulac, Dularge, Grand Caillou, Four Point, and other areas in the south.

Please know that we have not forgotten you. Our crews have been in your area setting poles, stringing wire, and clearing debris. We do not have transmission coming into the Ashland substation yet and the damage around the substation is extensive and complicated.

We want to give you honest expectations so you can make the necessary preparations for your families- it could be several more weeks before power is fully restored in the area. We are right here with you in this hardship and are working as quickly and safely as humanly possible. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and we thank you for your patience.
