Join HPD and TPSO for National Night Out Against Crime Tuesday, Oct. 1

The Houma Police Department (HPD) and The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) present National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, for Terrebonne Parish residents.

National Night Out was originally started in 1984 in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by Matt Peskin. The event is a nationally-celebrated community event that encourages police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie while promoting neighborhood safety. Many neighborhoods participate by hosting block parties, BBQs, and festivals with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, and more.

The participating Neighborhood Watch groups for Terrebonne Parish are as listed (times vary by location):

  • Bayou Towers
  • Blue Cliff College
  • Bonne Terre Village/Barataria Station
  • Bourg Gym
  • Deweyville
  • East Park
  • Mandalay Woods
  • Maple Association
  • Marina
  • Mechanicville Recreation Center

To view all locations and times, see the attached flyer.

Go to the National Night Out website to read more on the history and learn how your neighborhood can become a part of National Night Out.
