The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), through the Governor’s Office of Community Development and the Louisiana Recovery Authority is hosting an important meeting designed to help Louisiana agriculture recover from the devastation of hurricanes Gustav and Ike. Attendees will learn about a new loan and grant program designed to assist with the issues surrounding the damage and devastation experienced from these storms. The Farmer Program consist of 20% Grant, 80% Loan at 1.5% interest up to $ 100,000 per loan with a 5 year payback. The Agribusiness Program offers a 100% loan with 1.5% interest up to $ 250,000 per loan with 5 year payback.
