Annual Arbor Day Apache Tree Give Away to Be Held Jan. 26 at the Main Library

The annual Arbor Day Apache Tree Give Away will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Terrebonne Parish Main Library, 151 Library Drive, Houma, LA.

Apache Corporation is pleased to announce that they are donating 200 trees in celebration of Arbor Day 2019. Apache Corporation has donated over 4.6 million trees to nonprofits across 17 states since its launch in 2005. In Terrebonne Parish, Apache has donated over 12,000 trees.

This will be the 13th year that Apache Corporation has made this event possible. There is a limit of two container saplings per household to be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Come early to assure your choice of various Louisiana native seedlings and saplings.

The Tree Give Away is an annual project of The Terrebonne Tree Board. Volunteers assisting with the distribution of the trees include The La Terre Master Gardeners, LSU Agriculture Center, Terrebonne Parish Government staff, Apache Corporation staff, and other community volunteers. These experts will also provide educational information regarding the planting and proper maintenance of the trees.
