The Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter is filled with very friendly adoptable cats and dogs that have outgrown the kitten/puppy stage of life, and they are crossing their paws that adopters will see the beauty in adopting an adult cat or dog. The shelter is offering a special Thankful for Adopters adoption fee of $25 for cats and $50 for dogs six (6) months of age and older for the entire month of November.

Adoption hours during the week are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adoption hours on Saturdays are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shelter will not be open for intake on Saturdays. It is greatly anticipated that by offering a reduced price for adoptions, more cats and dogs can find homes.

Dozens of animals are currently available for adoption at the Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter. Pictures of some of the adoptable animals can be found on the shelter’s Facebook page and Petfinder.com.

Adopted animals are provided with the following:

• brief health exam
• vaccinations
• dewormer
• appropriate testing
• microchip (including registration)
• spay/neuter
• 1 mo. supply of flea prevention
• 1 mo. supply of heartworm prevention (dogs)
