Due to the threat of severe weather, the 5-mile paddle trip for Paddle Down Da Bayou has been rescheduled for 8 a.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018. Due to a change in wind direction, the paddle direction has also changed. The launch site will now be the Private Government Boat Launch, 5160 Hwy 56, Chauvin. 

Paddlers should stop at the launch site to check in and unload, then proceed to the end site for vehicle drop-off at the LLMAP Camp, 6090 Hwy 56, Chauvin. A shuttle will return paddlers to the launch site. 

New paddlers are welcome to participate for a $10 fee. A limited number of T-shirts will be available for $15 on a first come, first served basis. Breakfast and snacks will be provided before launching, and restrooms will be available at the Chauvin Sculpture Garden. A jambalaya and white bean lunch will be provided to paddlers and workers at the Little Caillou Volunteer Fire Department pavilion after the paddle trip.
