Description:
The Tree Give Away celebration includes the distribution of 200 native trees to Terrebonne Parish citizens. In planting these trees, citizens are helping to make Terrebonne Parish a greener, healthier and more beautiful place to live. Limit is on a first come-first serve basis of two container saplings per household. The Terrebonne Parish Tree Board will also provide at least 800 bare root seedlings to add to the 200 potted trees provided by Apache Corporation.
The entry fee is $5 and includes a large selection of soups, entertainment for children, and more. Proceeds will go to benefit the United Way for South Louisiana's 18 member agencies.

School visits will begin at 8:45 a.m., and the event will be open to the public from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. To celebrate World Wetlands Day, the Wetlands Discovery Center will host an educational event complete with hands-on activities and a tour of the Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum in Downtown Houma.
