Curfew :
The following curfews have been announced:
- Areas south of the Morganza to the Gulf levee system: Begins at 7PM on Tuesday, September 10, until further notice
- Parish-wide: Begins at 8AM on Wednesday, September 11 until further notice
Roads :
All moveable bridges will suspend operations at 10 PM on September 10, 2024. All bridges will be open to vehicle traffic with the exception of the Dulac Pontoon Bridge, which will be open to marine traffic.
Sandbags :
Self-serve sandbag locations:
TPCG is currently working to open several additional sandbag locations throughout Terrebonne Parish. Crews are working to bring sand to the following locations, starting in the lower-lying areas in the parish. All locations should be open by the end of the day today.
Sand will be delivered to the following locations:
- Grand Caillou Fire Station
- Mechanicville Gym
- Upper Dularge Fire Station
- Bayou Black Fire Station
- Civic Center
- Adult Softball Complex
- Pointe-Aux-Chenes Recreation Area
- Montegut Fire Station
- St. Ann Church
- Ward 7
- Village East Fire
- Cannata's West
- Donner Community Center
- Devon Keller Memorial Center
- Public Works North Campus
- Gibson East Fire
- West Terrebonne Fire
Remember, these stations are self serve, and residents must bring their own shovel.
Prefilled sandbag locations (for persons with disabilities and the elderly):
Prefilled sandbags will be available at 1860 Grand Caillou Road for residents with disabilities and the elderly. Residents should use the side road between the Public Works yard and Last Island Hardware (old Shannon Hardware), and bags should be picked up at the side gates.
Distribution times:
- Monday, September 9 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, September 10 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Shelters :
The storm shelter will open on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 6 PM at the Municipal Auditorium located at 880 Verret Street.
Residents utilizing the shelter should bring the following items:
- state driver’s license or identification card
- bedding
- personal hygiene product
- medication
- baby formula, diapers, and wipes
- power strips and phone chargers
- food and water to last three days
Pets are allowed at the shelter but must be kept in a kennel inside the pet area. Pet owners are required to bring food, bowls, and leashes to walk pets.
Residents in need of transportation to the shelter should call 985-873-6357.
Residents residing in temporary housing are highly encouraged to seek shelter with family or friends or at the evacuation shelter.
Waterways :
Due to anticipated tropical weather, the following floodgates and locks will close today and tomorrow:
- Grand Bayou
- Bayou Grand Caillou
- Pointe-aux-Chenes
- Lower Dularge
- HNC
- Cocodrie
- Falgout Canal
Hwy 56 and Hwy 665 road gates will also close Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning.
