Wear your best swamp chic attire (that’s cocktail attire with a flair that only South Louisiana can bring), and join us for the 2018 Rougarou Ball from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Houma Municipal Auditorium. Enjoy delicious food, drinks, entertainment, live/silent auction, and our queen competition. Preselected creative teams will present their contestants during the ball, and our judges decide which lucky team takes home the crown. Sponsorship tables are available and individual tickets for the ball are $50 per person with proceeds supporting the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center. A celebration of the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo with drinks, a hat contest, bourbon tasting, and live streaming of the Kentucky Derby. Funds raised will benefit the Foundation for TGMC for the purchase of a mobile health unit for testing and educational events.
A community-focused reading initiative. Terrebonne Parish Library patrons at any branch library may vote for their favorite books, one ballot per book checked out. Voting begins on May 7 and lasts until May 21; the top 10 books will be announced in the parish library's June newsletter.
