Registration begins for the library's summer reading program and will last through summer on July 28. The program, "Libraries Rock", is to develop strong reading habits for people of all ages. Participation includes a certificate, coupons, a Library Rock Star yard sign, and entry into the library's annual summer raffle.

The Foundation for Terrebonne General Medical Center
Regional hall of fame induction banquet for six local athletes either born or educated in Terrebonne, Lafourche, or Assumption Parish. Tickets are on sale now. Banquet proceeds will directly benefit the Foundation's drive to purchase a mobile medical clinic/blood mobile.
Terrebonne Parish resident Barbara Celestine is to lead the discussion with details from her own experiences in researching the rich histories of local families. “Researching African American Genealogy” will also invite back keynote speaker Antoinette Harrell, a genealogist and historian renowned for her work in African American studies. Celestine and Harrell together will explore the many different resources historians can use in genealogical research.
Houma's Independence Day Celebration. Food and craft booths, children's activities, Veteran's memorial tribute, guest speaker, live music, and a fireworks show. Free admission. No alcohol allowed on grounds.
