Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Assistance

The CHDO Assistance Program provides set aside funds for designated non-profit organizations to develop, sponsor, or manage affordable housing activities as required by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA)

TBRA assists families successfully exiting a homeless shelter by making up the difference between actual permanent housing costs and what a family can afford to pay. This program was developed to address the housing needs of homeless families in Terrebonne Parish wishing to become self-sufficient. In order to be considered eligible for Tenant Based Rental Assistance, applicants must be currently living in a homeless shelter in Terrebonne Parish, have a written recommendation letter from a managing officer of the shelter, working a minimum of 30 hours per week and have a total household income that does not exceed 60% of median income as determined by the Department of Housing Urban Development.
