Our Mission

Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum

The Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum preserves and promotes the area's long, colorful and historically important connection with the seafood and water transportation industries, as well as other wetlands and water based hunting, gathering and mining occupations.

The Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum ranks as one of the area's most unique venues for private receptions, meetings and celebrations of every variety. The museum and its exhibits, charming back porch overlooking the bayou and serene bayou-side park offer unlimited options for those interested in a first-rate facility.

Dumas Auditorium and Municipal Auditorium

The Dumas and Municipal Auditoriums are available for public use! If you're planning a large volume gathering, consider using the Municipal or Dumas Auditorium.

Louisiana Main Street Program

Louisiana Main Street is a comprehensive and incremental program, that combines thoughtful preservation of historic assets with prudent business practices and blends common sense with sound planning, economic development, promotion and design. Anyone can use the Four Point Approach® to revitalize downtown, but the designation, an Official Main Street of Louisiana, (see the list of for Louisiana Main Street Communities) indicates that a community has made a commitment to the Four Point Approach® and to historic preservation.

Terrebonne Folklife Culture Center

Dedicated to preserving cajun culture, the Folklife Culture Center offers classes on cajun dancing, cooking, crafts and duck decoy carving. Individuals and groups are welcome. Call for schedule.
