The Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center maintains an independent web

The mission of the
Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center is to provide cultural enrichment,
diverse entertainment and a public forum while maintaining a safe and
clean facility. This mission is to be accomplished through innovative
management, fiscal responsibility, aggressive marketing and a superior
customer service department. These strategies will promote civic
pride, integrity and a sense of community for employees and clients.

Building Specifications:
This 100,000 sq. ft. multipurpose facility includes a 5,000 seat area;
theatrical and banquet seating for 2,500; a trade show booth capacity
of 236; fully equipped floor boxes to accommodate electric,
communications, water and drain usage; spacious parking for 1,600; a
10,000 sq.ft. first-class meeting room wing that is divisible into 5
distinct rooms; a spacious lobby and dressing rooms; a covered drop
off area; full service concessions and catering operations; an
unlimited floor load; easy access load-in docks; flexible stage
configurations; a full service computerized box office and more
Short & Long Term Goals:
- meet with promoters or entertainment and theatrical productions
to maximize leasing opportunities, local and national in scale
- maintain an ongoing dialogue with major talent agencies and
agents
- visit with producers, meeting planners and organizations for the
planning of conventions and trade shows
- seek out additional co-promotional arrangements for events that
may not otherwise occur at the HTCC
- in an economic fashion, develop and co-op uniform collateral
materials for industry advertising and promotion
- attend national conferences and seminars to make HTCC visible to
the national entertainment/ convention industry and obtain
education of and contacts within this industry
- work with the Parish Administration and Parish Council to
maintain competitive rental rates
- organize community resources and cooperative efforts through the
Chamber of Commerce, Houma Area Convention and Visitors Bureau,
hotel/motel associations and professional organizations
- develop and expand local and regional sporting events
- promote and solicit favorable coverage about the HTCC in local
as well as industry related media. Trade publications would
include entertainment, sports and convention and tradeshow
magazines
- generate publicity coverage of HTCC events through press
conferences, regularly scheduled event updates, general event
related information and open communication with media
representatives
- create additional media extensions, publicity and promotion for
the HTCC
- Inform the community about HTCC and its events through a
regularly published newsletter, distribution of event schedules,
maintenance of the outdoor marquee, and placement of event
schedules in print publications
Position Strategy: through
advertising and public relations efforts, promote the advantages of
the HTCC highlighting its strength at the box office for sports and
entertainment events/activities, position the facility as occupying a
unique niche in the market, position the meeting room wing and its
divisible space as the function area of choice

from conventions, seminars, trade, consumer and family shows to
concerts, banquets, performing arts, community events, fairs and
festivals, exhibitions, graduations and religious services
