Force Drainage Pumps
FORCED DRAINAGE PUMPS:
drainage division operates 61 forced drainage systems throughout the
parish. At present we are installing a telemetry scada system on
these stations, which has the capability of monitoring the status of
the stations from a central location to assure proper operation of
the pumps. The first phase is complete with 39% of the pumps online
at present.
Ditches and Canals
DITCHES AND CANALS: The
drainage division also cleans and maintains the roadside ditches,
culverts, and catch basins on all parish streets. Drainage also
cleans canals and laterals within the force drainage systems, in the
parish. This includes cutting of levees and laterals, dredging pump
canals, removal of vegetation from canals.

There is no charge for the permit. A technician then goes out to determine proper culvert size and catch basin locations. You are then contacted with this information.
Resident then purchases their culverts and calls back to the drainage division to make a work order to have the culverts installed. (drainage will install culverts up to 36" concrete pipe and 48" corrugated metal pipe all other sizes will be installed by resident).
Then the drainage division will have the culverts installed and replace any fill material, which was removed from the ditch to set the pipe (it is the residents responsibility to provide any fill material and to build catch basins to complete the installation). Catch Basin Specifications
