Service shall be by certified mail, with return receipt requested. If the certified mail receipt is returned abd marked "unserved", the plaintiff will be notified and will be required to pay for service by the sheriff, marshal, or constable having jurisdiciton. The Houma city Marshal's fee dir service in Small Claims is $10.00 plus mileage. Service fees vary for other jurisdictions and the Small Claims Division will inform the plaintiff of the specific service fee. If Notice of Judgment is required, an additional service fee will be collected. The service fee varied depending on jurisdiction.
